I started this post some time before April 30th and how it fell off the radar I have no idea.Regardless, Acadiana promises they're fresh from the Gulf and boiled just as we like them. So with the sun shining, summer work schedules in affect and the need to be outside stronger than ever, what better time to head downtown to peel tails, suck heads and sip a cold brew!
Before we head down to Gallery Place, let's learn how to peel a mudbug (not sure what I like more about this video - the size of the crawfish or the narrator's accent):
Courtesy of Mudslides Slim

Love it, Send them to Chattanooga!!!
ReplyDeleteha!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy. :)
Tell me you are not spending $13 per lb to each crawdads up in DC?
ReplyDeleteI think they've got this going on at Papadeaux. Not nearly as nice as Acadiana I'm sure but this ain't the district.
ReplyDeleteDearest Dickie, the District has missed you.
ReplyDelete1. I believe the Brooks Brothers polo is my personal favorite. Classic, well made, timeless.
2. Name the date for Acadiana and this booze hound will be there.
A new southern restaurant opened at the end of my street about 2 months ago called Tupelo. Haven't been yet, but its supposed to be good, and word on the street is they're doing crawfish boils all summer long. Not as good as NO, I'm sure, but delicious by yankee standards...
ReplyDeleteDevin: I have not yet, but it leaves me no options
ReplyDeleteLongwing: I dig papadeaux, familiar from my traveling days to Houston.
Boozie: You are amazing. Let's go soon!
Nick: put it on the list for when I finally get to Boston.
Pick the head; squeeze the tail.
ReplyDeleteEat while enjoy Zydeco muzak.
