Black & Gold Super Bowl

I've been waiting all season to say those words and how sweet it sounds rolling off my tongue:

The New Orleans Saints are going to the SUPER BOWL!

I started getting nervous late last week, remaining cautiously optimistic, superstitious and positive, in my gut I believed. Much like the rest of the season, they would need to take it one play at a time, one quarter, half and then finish strong.

As Sean Patyon said at trophy presentation "This stadium used to have holes in it and used to be wet. It's not wet anymore. This is for the city of New Orleans."

All season long this has been about the Saints, but anyone of them - Brees, Bush, Shockey, Porter, Sharper - have said this is about the fans, and the city.

There's a long road ahead 'in pursuit of Lombardi' but I believe:

Editors Note: Cowboy Mouth will be playing at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC on Friday, January 29th. If you want to celebrate New Orleans victory, Mardi Gras and being alive, get the ticket - it will be incredible.

  1. I don't think I've ever been so nervous watching a game. Couldn't keep still during the fourth quarter and knocked over my chair TWICE (once after that last interception and once at the end of the game) while jumping up with excitement. Can't beleive the day has come! So freakin' excited to see them on Feb 7 it's insane!!!

  3. What a great time for an incredible city. The Dome was electric last night. Grown men crying, neighbors hugging and every fan continuing to BELIEVE!

  5. DCMuller: Be careful on those stools/chairs. No need to hurt yourself watching the game.

JMW: My Aunt told me crazy stories about streets in grid lock with people honking horns, fireworks, partying in their front lawns with neighbors etc etc - the next few weeks will be crazy.

CIL: Wish I was there with y'all.

MLS: Welcome to the Who Dat Nation!

  6. HAHA! It was the chair (regular height) that fell over not me. Can't wait for Feb 7 when I will be proudly (though tastefully DAM) representing the Who Dat Nation at Dolphin, err Sun Life, Stadium. Can't wait to see the normally orange stadium filled with black and gold!
