and it seems we have welcomed spring weather with great fanfare. From pretty gorgeous 70 degree and sunshine days to requisite afternoon thunder showers, the changing temperatures mean it's time to pack away....
The vests that were worn while ushering in Autumns Return,
the Patagonia fleeces that were perfect on their own during sweater weather and as an additional layer in the dead of winter,
my old school North Faces that were worth their weight in gold when DC was hit by heavy snow in December then back-to-back blizzards in February,
and last but not least, the Barbours that are the corner stone of my wardrobe.
Okay, so maybe it won't all be bagged up and put in storage right away; the vests and fleece are perfect for Spring mornings and cool Summer nights and if the Farmer's Almanac is correct we aren't done with winter just yet - which means all of this rig may just get an encore performance.
Until then, boat shoes and polos for everyone...

"boat shoes and polos for everyone..." has got to be someone's FB quote
ReplyDeleteGreat blog - first time on your site. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteA: Set that as your FB quote...
ReplyDeleteSam: Thank You
I agree, great blog! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteNothing better than needing a fleece during a cool summer night... though I think to need one in Kiawah we'll need to crank the AC!
ReplyDeleteAll excellent choices DAM! I am looking forward to packing the coats away for good this year! LOVE LOVE LOVE "...Boat shoes and Polos for Everyone!" That could be your new signature, like Beth Dunn's "Collars up!" :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed....it's that transitional time of the year...I've had over the last two weeks...the top down on my car...linen pants on...the windows open at night...a hunch that I might actually need flood insurance due to the rains...the heat BACK on in my house...cashmere sweater BACK on and one day where I thought I was gonna get a bit of sunburn. I love how spring taunts us.
ReplyDeleteCTB: Thank You
ReplyDeletePCW: I don't know - that wind was pretty good on the beach.
Trish: Between my FB quote and signature, we'll get more folks in our basics.
ADG: Spring, such a tease...
SG I am loving the blog and could not agree more on the use of Barbour as great corner stone for outerwear these days.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christian -
ReplyDeleteThat last coat on the right, the Barbour Eksdale, looks just like the coat that Bernie Madoff was wearing during his last days of freedom. I remember when he was returning to his penthouse and he was mobbed by the press, he was looking stylish in this cute quilted number with a baseball cap. Hell, even crooks like to look nice...
