I first mentioned an Abita 'Harvest Brew' back in the fall and have been savoring the 12 bottles of Abita Strawberry Lager we bought due to lack of supply in the DC area. If you haven't tried it before and come across it, buy it. It's fresh, light and with the slightest hint of strawberry is to Abita what lemon is Sam Adam's Summer Ale.
I'm now in search of the remaining 'end of the season' stock, so if you know where to find it in/near the District, let me know and I'll share one .

When I lived on the hill, I found my Abita Strawberry at Schneider's. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHey man been reading your blog for a while now, and this is the first comment I've done.
ReplyDeleteThat Abita Strawberry is awesome, they carry it at this liquor store in my college town. They have a huge wall of beer in there with stuff from all over. Love it there, but my beer belly doesn't!
I know and I would tell you....but then I would have to kill you. I'm too obsessed and I want all the Abita in the district to myself!
ReplyDeleteAbita's website has a tracking system to tell you which stores carry each specific brew, including Strawberry! Good Luck! Here is the link: http://abita.com/find_abita/index.php
ReplyDeleteSG:
ReplyDeleteDid you check at DOPS Wholesale in Ft Washington? 301-839-8650 or Select Wines out here in the boonedocks (chantilly) 703-631-8100.
Let me know if either of these works especially the chantilly location I might be willing to do a pick up and cross the border for ya!
Abita Beer is quite nice. Its been a while since I tasted it though to remember my exact tasty thoughts. My newest beer is Ybor Gold. Rather tasty. Most of the types, that is.
ReplyDeleteany plan to reward the religious followers by putting some koozies, croakies or white pocket tee's with your sweet/simple logo?
