While there are many things I like about summer weekends - grilling, heading to Kiawah/Delaware beaches, having enough time the next day to recover from the Firefly & Waters consumed the night before - I especially dig the rig that makes up the Summer Edition of Weekend Wardrobe:

- RB Caravan: Worn to work
- RB4115: Worn to play
- Wayfarers: Bought by the dozen, okay if they wash away
- Polos: Whether, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, Southern Tide or Perlis, they build the foundation.
- Souvenir Tees: Picked up on travels round the globe; but always white shirts, ideally frockets and back design.
- Leather Man Ltd Grosgrain Belt: Pick this color or one of your own from their selection of over thirty.
- Shot Shell Belt: A reminder of the fun to be had in the fall. Which would you choose from NRO?
- Patagonia Stand Ups: 5" inseam + one size up on the waist = perfect fit.
- J.Crew Essential Chino Short: 7" inseam, stone color, pressed flat.
- Murray's Nantucket Reds: The one and only. No substitutions or imitations.
- Rainbows: Espresso so they perfectly match the brown belt.
- Cole Haan Howland: Worn-in for summer just like an old baseball glove.
- Sperry's Original Boat Shoe: Versatile, classic and authentic.

Dig the gear DAM. Most of it, anyway...the day glo wayfarer knock offs are a little Amy Winehouse.
ReplyDeletePardon me; "Firefly and Waters" - I just gagged. Drink a beer.
Looking good Looking good

DAM-- Spot on as usual. The Patagonia shorts are literally PERFECT. The J Crew shorts could use a 2 inch hem! I may have to agree with my friend AEV on the Winehouse/Wayferer scene a bit. Nice post D.

You wear all of that at the same damn time?
ReplyDeletePerfection.
ReplyDeleteAEV: Firefly and water are delicious.
ReplyDeleteBJP:The wayfarers are perfect for tubing/beach/lake activities when you don't want to loose the RB's.
ADG: All at once, every weekend. The shoes are always the tricky part though.
For the sunglasses, wear a pair of croakies you can tighten up. Never fails.
ReplyDeleteAlso on the Stand Ups, if you wash in cold water and air dry or use the low heat tumble dry, you won't need to size up because they won't shrink so badly.
Thanks Anon - I would consider myself a connoiseur of croakies and almost always have them on a my sunglasses, but even thsoe can't protect you against the waves and white water rivers.
ReplyDeleteAs far as sizing up, I did that so they ride a bit lower and equal out the shortness of the 5" hem and hopefully avoiding the softball coach look.
Ah I understand; I misinterpreted the original post. In any case, Stand Ups are the jam.
ReplyDeleteGood looking set, DAM. Frocket - well played.
ReplyDeleteJRS: Thanks man - Hard to find that many good frockets these days and need them more than ever - not for cigs, but for the blackberry, ipod, gadget 1, gagdet 2 etc etc.
ReplyDeleteAnon: I also misread your original comment on "croakies you can tighten up" all mine are neoprene, so should probably get an adjustable pair. Good call.
