I love that you put in pieces like the camo hat... and do some hunting posts, etc... it creates conversation, and offers a valuable alternative the the same everyday shit. I LOVE my barbours (quilted, bedale, beufort, and vest)... but ALSO LOVE my Carhartt work jacket, and my double knee Mountain Khakis/Carhartts, etc. I wear a suit and a bow tie to work every day, and am just as comforatble in my woodshop clothes.
Lifestyle --at least a good one-- exceeds a narrow wardrobe. Period.

BTG: Right there with you - I have a Retro X vest as well and with the staple crew neck sweater in either cable or Shetland give versatility to the whole kit.

In general: The key point I guess I was too subtly trying to demonstrate here is the difference in fit - the jeans aren't baggy or boot cut, the shirt doesn't blouse and the fleece is fitted giving it a clean, tailored edge to otherwise completely casual and potentially sloppy ensemble.

Good post. I have a couple of caps that are broken in nicely for which I usually reach. The oxford button down with jeans is a staple. I also tend to default with a technical fleece vest and a sweater if conditions demand it. Pair those off with my go to boots, Blundstone. CK crew necks for me too.

Amazing. I can't imagine in what imaginary world that you live in which a "camo cap" is considered "Southern Gent" - it's pure redneck (though, I acknowledge residents or Louisiana are kinda pseudo-southern and certainly have no knowledge of what is gentlemanly by any convetional southern standards – mardis gras – come on). Adding the fact that the cap was personalized adds all the “high class” aura of a belt buckle with ones name on it. You just blew the shibboleth.

NFL baseball caps and Wallabies are also clearly infra dig – your tastes have consistently indicated that you went to some southern state school diploma mill – in which case, one needn’t expect that you would know what a real southern gent would wear. I'd probably switch out the more technical fleece for something a little different. I have a variety of Woolrich Woolen Mills outerwear for just that.

My chinos are of a slimmer cut, but besides denim and khaki what else could you possibly need? Have you ever thought of copping some selvedge? APC's are pretty easy to get your hands on.
